It's been a few years since we got brick textures. Back then, we used decals and basic function materials like welds to make our games look good. Then, we got materials. They really made our games look spectacular. Instead of using decals (which sometimes looked a bit ugly), we could use these cleaner, and more high quality textures.
Just recently, a bunch of new materials were added, they look great! We have ice and marble now, which in my opinion, look spectacular.
It's been a very long time since we had new material textures. In fact, this is the second batch of material textures! I really hope they add more eventually, because these really bring the games to life.
Sorry about not reviewing the new Halloween place, I would, but my computer is not set up. Hopefully it's set up soon so I can do a review on it!
Farewell for now.

Brand new thingies on the site!
I'm adding a bunch of new things to the site!
I've already added a "Featured Item", and the top viewed posts! I also am adding new pages. You should see them soon... Once I finish them, anyway.
I have also added a "News" section. You can find the changelog of The Robloxian Gazette there once I finish! You will only find The Robloxian Gazette site-related news there, not ROBLOX Blog news or anything like that.

JJ5x5: A ROBLOXian with a Hat
JJ5x5's current look |
JJ5x5 became extremely famous after winning the Humorous Video Contest. That was before I joined! But he's not famous because he won, he's famous because he has his very own top hat! Proudly known as JJ5x5's White Top Hat! He's pretty lucky to get his own hat!
To my knowledge, he's the only ROBLOXian user to get his own hat! (This doesn't count moderators!)
At the time, the top hat was the most expensive item available. It only has 3003 hats sold! If you're a hat collector, than I HIGHLY suggest you buy this piece of ROBLOX history!
In 2010, a rumour surfaced that JJ5x5 was hacked. In all honesty, this little piece of history left me puzzled. I'm definite he was hacked for a period of time, but who is a question I've yet to be answered. There's a few users (who I shall not name) who have been suspected of the hacking, but I can't confirm it.
Another rumour is that he has somehow regained his account, and is back, but inactive due to college. It's a bit confusing wether he is the real JJ or not. But if it is the real JJ, than I hope you do well in college!
Is he still in college...? I'm not sure. I hope he did well though. His YouTube account has not uploaded a video in a year, so I'm assuming so.
Uh, that's the end of my little brief explanation of JJ5x5! I was a bit confused to some of the info, sorry 'bout that!
Be sure to check out Thrillville! And if you're rich enough, you should buy JJ5x5's White Top Hat! It's a limited item, so get it quick while it's cheap!

A Trip to the Past: Zombie Assaultv3.0status (Open. Tiny Lag)
Our first place review! It's a pretty old one too, but it was one of the best old ones out there!
Zombie Assault was one of the games that really took advantage of what ROBLOX had to offer. Let me remind you that this was 2008. ROBLOX games didn't have this kind of stuff in most of the games.
Anyway. The game is broken. It doesn't work anymore, sadly. The only way I can write this review, is purely off memory, and this was well over 5 years ago, so bear with me.
Zombie Assault followed a linear plot. You're in a squad of people who are trying to save some important figures (like Builderman) in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The game wasn't very detailed, but it worked. Guns ranged from pistols to machine guns. I think there was a shotgun or a rifle, but I don't remember which one was it. There was VIP too. I believe VIP got a Desert Eagle, an armour buff, and you could join the game at any time you wanted! Pretty handy.
You may be asking yourself how any of this was revolutionary. Well, the entire game ran on scripted scenes. This was literally unheard of in ROBLOX. Everything was on scripted scenes; from the zombies spawning, to even doors opening. The most iconic one was a truck blasting by, killing anyone it touched! The game had an emphasis on teamwork. You could die pretty easily if you're not careful. The game used the old pop up script to let people know what was happening.
There was also a sequel planned! Unfortunately, Blade3rd supposedly quit ROBLOX on September 8, 2008. This left Zombie Assault 2: Day of Reckoning forever at 10% completion. We were,
however, left with a few plot spoilers by a user who was working with Blade3rd, or was a sibling of his.
The post is as follows:
"SPOILER! DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO!
This game will have a girl, the commander's daughter, named Melody. She is an explosives expert and she will be following Team 1. Team 2(Yes this game will have 2 teams) will be hard mode and will be providing support for Team 1, Team 2 is really the behind-the-scenes workers. There will be NPC vehicles and a Boss battle. Hope this brings more fans!
Wow..It HAS to come out soon..but blade3rd said 1st one took 3 months...guess we'll have to wait eh?"
This post was made by l3loodwolf 5 years ago. This is the only info on the game we have, and it will be probably forever. Let me tell you, this sounded extremely ambitious for the time. But it was Blade3rd. He could do it. He was a legend at building games.
He may be forgotten, but the mark he left on ROBLOX won't be forgotten.
The place's glorious thumbnail |

The Price Floor
The price floor was something I didn't really expect. I'm not a fan of it, either.
On September 26, the ROBLOX Blog announced the price floor. Before I get into the price floor, I'd like to mention something; you can convert your hard earned ROBUX into real life MONEY! There are some limitations though:
-Must be an Outrageous Builders Club Member
-Must have 100.000 ROBUX
Essentially, 100.000 ROBUX becomes 100 US dollars, which is awesome. You could make an excellent game with your Outrageous Builders Club powers, and you could repay your parents that $349.95 they happily gave you. Pretty handy!
Of course, that'd take a while.
And it makes sense why it's OBC only. If anyone were to do that, I'm sure ROBLOX would be losing tons of money, and that could mean the end of ROBLOX!
On with the main topic: The Price Floor.
It mostly affects users who specialize in selling clothing items like pants, shirts, and t-shirts. ROBLOX stated this:
"it’s better for the economy as a whole to enforce a minimum price on these goods." Click here for the blog post.
At first, the minimum was at a crazy 300 Tickets and 25 ROBUX! But the developers of ROBLOX listened, and the minimum prices dropped to the following:
-100 Tickets and 10 ROBUX for shirts and pants
-20 Tickets and 2 ROBUX for t-shirts
Not many users are a fan of this update, even after ROBLOX dropped the minimum price. I've seen a few groups and forum threads protesting against the ROBLOX staff to remove the price floor.
In my opinion, I dislike the price floor. I mean, not everyone hates it, but a majority do. It removes that freedom to give "free shirts" out, and removes the freedom to set an affordable price on a shirt. I own a wide variety of shirts and pants, and I don't plan to buy any more of them unless they're cheaper and affordable.
Overall, I think the Developers Exchange is a nice touch, but the Price Floor, is not.

Hello All!
Hello! It's optimuswhat speaking! The site isn't really pretty yet as of the time of this post, but I'm still working on that. I can give a bit of info on this blog though.
-Its all about ROBLOX!
-Exciting rants!
-Boring opinions!
-Featured items and stuff
-"Trips into the past"
-All about ROBLOX, really.
I made this blog mainly because I've been with ROBLOX for so long. 2008! What a long journey. I know tons of things that not everybody knows. I guess you can use this blog as some ROBLOX education tool or something.
I hope you enjoy what will soon be coming. I really do!
Farewell guys. I'll be back once the site looks more pretty and stuff.
EDIT:
Amazingly enough, in less than half an hour, I got the site title header working! Apparently the theme I was using earlier didn't really work.
There's a couple ROBLOXians there that you may not recognize. I shall name ALL of them! I may also periodically add new ROBLOXians to the image. The names will be updated here if there are new ones added.
Here they are! Left to right:
Clockwork, Builderman, JJ5x5, PilotLuke (Stealth Pilot), Ravenshield, Are92, Fleskhjerta, and optimuswhat.
You might not know many of these users. I'll go into a bit of detail into them in other posts.
Well, next up, I'm going to find some things to talk about. I have one that I feel the need to desperately talk about.
